Study Room Policy
In general, study rooms B & C can be reserved for group use. Room A can be reserved for group computer use only. To reserve a group study room, contact the library circulation desk. Reservations can be made in person or by phone (708-974-5235).
In extraordinary circumstances, exceptions may be made to these scheduling guidelines. If you think extraordinary circumstances warrant a exception, please see Terra Jacobson for approval.
Which Rooms can be reserved?
In general, B & C can be reserved for group use. A group with 12 -25 participants can reserve both rooms simultaneously. Groups larger than 25 will be asked to find another area on campus to meet. Because Campus Operations must be called to move the room divider, advance notice is needed to open rooms B & C into one large room. Room A can be reserved for group computer use only.
Who can reserve a room?
Moraine Valley faculty, staff, and students. Rooms are for group use. Rooms will not be reserved for only one person.
When can a room be reserved?
Reservations can be made no more than 2 weeks in advance, but no less than 1 day in advanced (i.e. reservations cannot be made for the day of the request).
For example, today is March 1st and I want to reserve a room for:
- March 6th - Allowed
- March 20th - Not allowed. There is more than 2 weeks in advanced
- March 1st - Not allowed. Reservations are not taken for the day of the request
How long can a room be reserved?
A maximum of 2 hours.
What happens if the group does not show up?
If the group that reserved the room does not arrive within 15 minutes of the reservation time, the reservation is presumed to have been cancelled and the room is available first-come, first-serve.
